Why it Matters
Like many districts, GCS is investing federal funds in high-dosage tutoring to make up unfinished learning and reduce chronic absenteeism. Leaders need clear evidence about who is being served and whether the support is working. This evaluation gives GCS a detailed picture of how its programs operate and whether participating students are making meaningful gains.
What Evaluation Looks Like
In our evaluation, Basis used student-level data to provide the district with
- a description of students who received high-dosage tutoring
- a complete picture of GCS high-dosage programs
- an analysis of the performance of students who participated
