Why Tutoring Resources Matter
High-quality tutoring is one of the most direct ways to keep students connected to school. All in all, by giving every student regular time with a caring, skilled adult who knows their goals and tracks their progress, tutoring is a complete game-changer. Our work found tutoring boosts engagement, improves achievement, and can reduce chronic absenteeism- particularly in communities where students need it the most.
Supporting Out-Of-School Time Learning
Through this project, The Mind Trust hopes to convince legislators to increase funding for out-of-school time learning programs. Accordingly, at Basis, our job is to procure the evidence needed by
- analyzing the impact of programs using a quasi-experimental research design.
- determining whether differences in outcomes may be explained by programmatic components.
- comparing outcomes for students who did and didn't participate in the program.
