Identifying High-Potential Leaders to Create Strong Schools

High-Potential Leaders, High-Need Schools

Harmony operates 58 charter schools across Texas, and its ability to deliver great instruction depends on putting effective leaders in front of students who need them most. This TSL-funded effort is designed to attract, grow, and retain strong principals and leadership teams in high-need schools. Ultimately, the project is tying professional learning and performance-based compensation to the conditions that actually move student outcomes.

Understanding Impact

Basis developed and implemented a comprehensive system of identifying and tracking high-potential leaders, including

  • scoring a school's status and performance.
  • creating a dashboarding system to visualize results.
  • determining metrics for a performance-based compensation system.
